Do you know when your brakes were checked last?

Your brakes are the most important safety system fitted to your vehicle and it's essential that they are inspected regularly to ensure they remain in good working order.

If you notice slower braking speeds or strange noises when you bring your vehicle to a stop, you could have a possible braking issue.

Don't leave personal safety to chance, call Edgecliff Automotive to arrange a detailed inspection of your vehicle’s brakes.

Our qualified technicians will take a close look at your brakes and provide an honest recommendation on whether you need to replace the brake pads, rotors, calipers or shoes.

At Edgecliff Automotive, we never compromise your safety by fitting inferior brake components. If we do have to replace your brakes, we’ll always use OEM compliant or approved manufacturer parts.

Identifying brake problems

If you notice any of the following you should have your brakes checked by our experts to find out whether any components need replacing;

  • If your brakes feel too hard or too spongy
  • If the vehicle pulls to one side when braking
  • If you can hear unusual noises when you press the brake pedal
  • If your steering wheel vibrates when slowing

These may be signs of the gradual deterioration that occurs over time, within a vehicle's braking system. If you suspect that your brakes are not functioning as well as they should, we recommend that you have them checked by our qualified technicians.

Brake Fluid Flush

Brake fluid transmits the pressure from your foot on the brake pedal to the master cylinder and on to the calipers that clamp the brake pads and stop your wheels. Without brake fluid, your vehicle will have no brakes.

The condition of your brake fluid is a vital part of your braking system and it should be regularly checked as part of your car’s maintenance. Most manufacturers recommend that you change your brake fluid every 24 months or 40,000 km, whichever is sooner.

Over time your vehicle’s brake fluid absorbs moisture. The higher amount of water content in the brake fluid will reduce its boiling point, resulting in a reduction in your vehicles braking efficiency.

When having a brake fluid flush at Edgecliff Automotive, our expert technicians will firstly check the level of your brake fluid, followed by checking the condition of your braking components to make sure there are no leaks or other problems.

The old fluid will then be flushed and your brake system will then be refilled with new brake fluid to the correct specification of your vehicle's manufacturer. Once full, they will bleed any excess air from the brake system, ensuring safety and optimum performance.
